Water is not an invention

repeat: Water is not an invention.

Invention Convention

I've been thinking lately; what's the greatest invention ever invented?
Here's my list:

1. Dishwasher (because I hate washing dishes by hand. Everyday that we've had a dishwasher I've smiled and broken down crying from happiness)

2. Washer and dryer (I haven't had the chance to break down crying yet because I still don't have a washer and dryer but hopefully the tears will start flowing within the next couple weeks.)

3. Water (hey, this was invented by God. Water is the GREATEST invention ever. Try to imagine using something else to bathe in, swim in, drink, clean with, mist with or rain on besides water. Milk would be sickening and extra virgin olive oil would just be too expensive. Water is amazing! What else can you fill little ice cube trays with? I know you're thinking Juice but it's still made with water. And where would Ariel and Nemo live if there were no water? Once again: WATER!)

What's your list of greatest inventions?

Bear Lake Bonanza

My family came up to see our place this weekend and we spent the day at Bear Lake.

My Dad and Jackson exhibiting this falls hottest new fashion: Towels!

This rock was down about four feet in the lake and all but the top two inches was buried in the sand. Aaron and I spent about thirty minutes digging it out. Why? Because it needed to be done.

Aaron reveling in our all-important victory over the rock.

Edison helping Clarissa become a mermaid

It was a fun day despite the sunburns. My back is now bright red and because Katie decided to swim european style her whole body looks like a walking beet.

Logantowncityville

Here are some pictures of our new place in logan. It's a two bedroom apartment. The bedrooms are on the second floor and kitchen and living room on the ground floor. It has a small backyard which is really nice. We really like living here so far. The apartment is great. We are only a half block from the Logan mall so we spend most of our time hanging out there looking cool. Our ward is all old people. I think we are the youngest married couple in the ward. Thank you so much to everyone who helped us move. You can see from all the books in the living room ( and thats only half of them) that it was a fun experience enjoyed by everyone's lower back.

Moving

Well, I believe Katie and Bennett moved to Logan this weekend. You guys should post some pics of your new apartment. Katie-when does school start? Good luck you guys!

I think you guys will really enjoy not living near family. I mean, then you have an excuse if you don't like someone and don't want to go to their birthday party. Take for instance Andrew and I we have a really good "excuse" not to go to Bennett's birthday parties. We pretend it's because we're too far away, but the truth is we think he stinks. And his comb-over is somewhat frightening.

But really, we're praying for you guys. God will take care of you!! We love you!!!!! (you can add a few more exclamation points for good measure)!!!!!!

Make Lucas Proud. Clap Your Hands. (slowly at first)

This blog has lost its purpose. It used to be about crafts and interior decorating and family stuff. It used to have a soul. Now I see blogs about the colon, fire that doesn't smoke and snorting cocaine at J.B.'s. It used to be about something good, something pure. It used to remind us of what it meant to be a financial analysis assistant with nothing to do at work but waste time and money surfing the internet. It's not too late to turn it around. It's not too late to pull this blog down off the auctioneer's block. This blog brought us together as a family, can we allow it to be sold at such a cheap price? Are a few childish jokes and a picture of a comb over all that this blog is worth? Well I say NO. No to you Mr. Selleck. No to you girl that drinks straight from the bottle of extra virgin olive oil. I'm making a stand right here and now. So join me in our quest to take back our blog. We shall overcome. Join me and the day will come that we need not fear ridicule for blogging about our love of "nine patch quilt blocks". I have seen what this blog can become. I've learned my lesson and the only way to make a lesson learned become substantial, the only way to make it life changing, the only way to make sure you feel it inside is if that lesson is punctuated with the slow clap. That dramatic drawn out clap that begins as a solo act of supportive understanding and grows to a stupendous crescendo of epiphanous proportions. Like a growing thunderstorm of cathartic lightning and empathetic rain the slow clap drives home the important lessons in life in a way that makes our enlightenment grow and ensures we will never forget. Save our blog and watch this clip so that you really understand what is at stake here.

You can see our house from up here

Katie and I went on a hike yesterday to the top of sunset peak. Sunset peak is between Alta and Brighton and is about 10,700 feet high. It took us about two hours to reach the summit. It was really beautiful. You could see the uintas to the east, the stanbury mountain range to the west, Mt. Nebo to the south. It was really amazing. Here are some pictures of our escapade.
