Our ward hasn't wasted any time putting us to work. Let me re-phrase that: our ward hasn't wasted any time putting me to work. On our very first Sunday in Portland I was called as the Primary Chorister, choir pianist, visiting teacher and nursery music leader. Four days later we got a call at 9:00 pm asking us to speak in church the following Sunday. Then, two weeks ago, we were asked to be on the Valentine's Dance committee. Bennett couldn't go to any of the meetings or set up for the dance because of work. That left me and one other person in a different ward to take care of the decorations for the dance. This is a picture of Bennett and me at the Valentine's Dance. We probably wouldn't have gone to it if we weren't asked to be on the committee but I'm glad we went because it was fun anyway.
Bennett was asked to be the building clean-up organization guy but he has to work on Saturdays and could never be there. They took back his calling.
Sound awesome? Sounds tiring! It honestly makes me want to go inactive. I'm counting down the days till I can move out of the ward. I think I will be blessed for doing all this stuff (I can feel blessed already) but it is a weight on me.
