We're so cute

Our ward hasn't wasted any time putting us to work. Let me re-phrase that: our ward hasn't wasted any time putting me to work. On our very first Sunday in Portland I was called as the Primary Chorister, choir pianist, visiting teacher and nursery music leader. Four days later we got a call at 9:00 pm asking us to speak in church the following Sunday. Then, two weeks ago, we were asked to be on the Valentine's Dance committee. Bennett couldn't go to any of the meetings or set up for the dance because of work. That left me and one other person in a different ward to take care of the decorations for the dance. This is a picture of Bennett and me at the Valentine's Dance. We probably wouldn't have gone to it if we weren't asked to be on the committee but I'm glad we went because it was fun anyway.

Bennett was asked to be the building clean-up organization guy but he has to work on Saturdays and could never be there. They took back his calling.

Sound awesome? Sounds tiring! It honestly makes me want to go inactive. I'm counting down the days till I can move out of the ward. I think I will be blessed for doing all this stuff (I can feel blessed already) but it is a weight on me.

Michael's First Birthday!

Michael turned ONE a week ago, and here are the pics of the big day:

Just a cute pic of him at the park.
Here he is opening a present (he was actually interested this time, unlike Christmas)

This is his first taste of Chocolate cake. We had to give him a bath after he ate this (the cake was even in his diaper when he was done)

Leesa came down for the big day, this is us at the Zoo.

The London Bridge

So we went to The London Bridge a few weeks ago. It was pretty cool. The end

A Collection of Short Stories to Leave You Gobsmacked

The Not-So-Worthy Couple

Katie and I sat by ourselves on the bench at Sacrament meeting. The deacon passed us the bread with no issues. When he brought the water he held the tray out to me and just as I was about to take the tray he pulled it back, turned away and walked off, never to return. We were only half righteous.

The Mysterious Case of the Text Messaging Boyfriend

Katie has been receiving random text messages since we moved to Portland. They are all from the same person, an acquaintance of ours from Logan who Katie has spoken to only a few times. They say things like "Good Morning Sunshine", "Good afternoon" and "Don't forget to send me your address" and they are usually sent at 5 or 6 in the morning. She even received the following picture message:

What Happens When Katie Leaves Bennett Home Alone?

This is what happens when I am left home all day bored, sick and by myself

Pornography in Portland

Take a look at our cable bill below and then guess who ordered that movie. Thats right it was Katie. Apparently living in Portland has brought out a hidden wild side in her not seen since she was a little kid pretending that McGyver was breaking into the bathroom while she took a bath. Scandalous, simply scandalous. She claims that it was on accident. Whatever. But either way I am never going to let her forget about it. From now on every time I do something wrong I can hang this over her head."Oh yeah, maybe I did ____________(insert act of stupidity here)______, but at least I didn't order the adult film on Cable."
