Back on the air for now.

This is on the way to visit the huge Buddha statue at Nara park. There are deer all over the place and one of them tried to bite Kanami. We rented a car and I drove there. I was pretty nervous about driving in Japan 'cause the tolerances between the road and all other obstacles is very tight. I did alright even though they drive on the opposite side of the road.

This is outside "his" home.
This is part of Nara park where the sakura are in full bloom. It's very pretty.

You can see how huge this statue is. It is one of the biggest in Japan, and I think the world.

We really came so I could show the kids how to worship idols.

This is the second enclosure for this huge guy. The first which was much bigger was built around 700 something AD, burned down and this is the second that they built around 1600. It is the biggest wooden structure in the world.

This is me with a smirk on my face because I am driving.

This is two days later, we went to the zoo (today). Rika's mom came with us.
Now everyone is sleeping cause it's after 10. Since the day we got to Japan we have all been waking up before 6 am. It's probably due to jet lag, but it makes the days longer which is nice.

I can't believe how close that deer let you get to it! Jake- I love your smirk! Wow, Japan is an awesome place. Do Elann and Kanami try to speak to Rika's mom and dad? Do they speak any English? Say hello to them from us!
Is there a large cherry crop in Japan?

I am sitting outside right now outside a big appartment so that I can get on the internet. I found another unsecured network. The one I have been getting on I think is on a pay by the min internet accout, so I can only get on when the guy is on, and they don't get on very often. Anyway, Elann and Kanami don't try to speak, however last night when Kanami was praying her Japanese was very clear, unlike before. So hopefully they will start speaking soon, they hear it constantly now. They understand everything that their grandpartents are saying, they just can't speak back.
The Cherry trees don't bare any fruit, they are just pretty to look at.
Those deer were everywhere, going in stores and inside the temple. Kanami was enjoying being close to them until one of them tried to bite her. Then she didn't like getting close to them anymore.

Pay by the minute? I thought that only existed on Napoleon Dynamite.
