Shoes in the River

Listen, when Bennett says, "Stop doing that or I'll throw you in the river," you had better heed his warning. So, yesterday we were enjoying a peaceful sitting next to some river that flows through Murray Park (possible the Murray river?). I started pushing Bennett over for being a soft speaker (he was talking too softly and I had to ask him over and over what he was saying). Then came his warning. I didn't believe him but the next second he's dragging me down to the river edge and pulls me right into the raging river. It wasn't very deep right there so only my shoes, socks and dignity were wet. After getting out what's the first thing I do? Pick up his shoe and throw it in. If you've seen this river you know it's a white rapid kind of a river (very swift current) and off his shoe goes. I wasn't expecting it to go that fast but we were both running quickly to catch up to the shoe. Bennett tried the old "grab the shoe from the bridge with a stick" but that didn't work and the shoe swiftly sailed on. We were both laughing and running down this river until finally some people climbed down and grabbed the shoe after Bennett pushed the shoe in their direction. Whew! Lesson learned: Never throw your wife in the river.

So I'm not sure I understand. If you can't hear Bennett and you try to turn his head ever so slightly, then he drags you by your legs and throws you into a raging river????? He needs some anger management classes. Or maybe he needs to walk around the mall in a tu-tu.
