Today Eva had half an avocado and half a pear through this mesh/binkie. She loves feeding herself. I wouldn't be able to get that much food into her by spoon. Afterword she was pretty messy but she loved it.
I love lunch time with her because the sun is frequently shining at that time and we have a huge window to sit by. I just soak up the sun with a baby by my side while eating good food together (well, Eva's food isn't so yummy but she likes it). It's a good moment for us!
The two pictures above show the toys I'm making for Eva. She is pretty tired of her toys and doesn't really pay that much attention to them anymore. She likes lids, jars, silverware, string and anything on the ground that isn't a toy. Time for some new toys! Why buy toys when she's interested in non-toy paraphernalia? I already had most of this stuff so I just slipped a shower curtain rod in between her crib and the wall and put bracelets, ribbons, and stuff for her to explore on it. I made another one for the front room too. I think she likes the one in her room better because it has a mirror and because she can pull herself up with the bar. My friend Liska gave me the idea. She mentioned that the Montessori schools have low mirrors with bars for kids to pull themselves up with. All the better to learn to walk with, my dear!
