Pull out the good excuse...

While babysitting Tyler and Isaac (Daniel and Julie were soaking it up in Hawaii) I heard a pretty fantastic excuse. Tyler did not want to go to school. He wanted to stay home and do the activities I had planned for the day. Here's how our morning conversation went:

Tyler: "I can't go to school. I don't feel good."

Me: "That's too bad. Once you get to school and you still feel sick, go to the office and they'll give me a call."

A few seconds later...

Tyler: "I can't go to school. Everyone there hates me," and slightly yelling to prove his point, "I got poked in the eye yesterday!"

Me: "Oh man! That's too bad. Don't be late for the bus." Thinking to myself, "Because I have no idea where your school is."

A few minutes later...

Tyler: Slightly more adjitated this time, "My teacher told me that she was going to kick me in the face. Only she and I heard it."

Me (trying not to laugh): "Wow. That's bad! Once you get to school, instead of going to class, go to the principal's office and tell him that your teacher said she was going to kick you in the face. Teachers should not be saying stuff like that to kindergartners."

I love Tyler! I'm glad he pulled out the old, "My teacher's going to kick me in the face," excuse. It made Bennett and me laugh for quite a while.

I don't know why you didn't beleive him. I used to tell the students in my class that I was going to kick them in the face all the time.

That's a great story! I should probably call Tyler and help him make up some more plausible lies.
