And the "Joy of Cooking" begat "Betty Crocker"

Katie found some currants growing in her parent's backyard and decided she wanted to make jam with them. We looked on the internet for a recipe and found one that gave this as the first instruction:

"Let the fruit be gathered on a fine day"
Finally! a cookbook written after the style of the old testament. Unfortunately thats where this brave new literary genre ended. The rest of the recipe followed the same old boring format. But can you imagine a whole cookbook as if it were written by the angry God of the old testament.
"And this is the recipe that thou shalt make according to the manner in which I instruct thee, and thou shalt fashion the recipe after the manner which I show unto thee and after no other manner shalt thou fashion it."
"And thou shalt take a roast of an unblemished bullock, two cubits shall be the breadth thereof and one cubit and a half shall be the length thereof"
"And thou shalt cast spices upon it, spices of the finest making, and if thou castest not, or if thou heedest not mine instructions then I shall smite thy cooking with a curse of blandness."

Hopefully Katie's currant jam is not smitten with a curse of blandness.

Are you sure you didn't have anything to do with the translation of the bible into English? You are a definate professional.
