KAIIZEN mexico Trip!

I had the awsome opportunity to go to mexico last month and play with kids at an orphanage with a charity called Kaiizen which was founded at BYU like 7 years ago. there was about 75 of us volunteers from around utah, cali and arizona and 35 kids. We slept on a private beach for 2 night, I slept in the car every night figures, and spent the other two at the orpahnage in the bunk house. We pretty much played with them the whole time. We made sweet movies which they loved and dressed them all up to have a red carpet night calling them in one by one on the microphone and everyone cheered and threw confetti and took pics. they were so so excited and it was one of their favorite things Kaiizen has ever done for them. thats me dancing.. she grabed me and wouldnt let go for like 20 min. so cute! We taught at a school and had a carnival, more like chaos, but it was really fun. it was really hard to teach the kids about cells when we only had one spanish speaker who didnt know the vocab, haha. Un dos tres bajo. while we were there we redid the nursury taking out the sick carpet and putting wood flooring in so the nannys would have to clean it up if the kids peed on the floor. It was cool to see how they needed us to just be their friends and play with them. they dont get a lot of attention so it was really neat to give them one on one time and single them out. I ate cow stomach, and fruits I had never seen before at this beautiful restraunt in the wine country. It was one of my favorite trips, but it was good to come back to america where we have showers and toilets you can put the toilet paper in. the first bathrooms we reached in cali were portipoties, I cursed them!!I was supposed to fundraise 100 bucks but I was so busy with school to get around to it so mom paid for half and I paid for half, but if anybody feels so inclined to donate to the leesa and mom mexico fund that would be awesome!! it was a really great experience! the first time I had been out of the country! we were stopped by the military 3 times cause they were looking for drugs. big guns and not the kind you arm wrestle with! I was only gone for 4 days but it felt like 2 weeks with everything we did! that is me looking extreemly uncomfortable because i was about to order a queso taco of death so besides the disgusing food we had at this totally unsanitary tacoria and the fact that it was really cold it was a pretty outstanding experience!
