Comparing Baby Photos

The first picture is one of me when I was a baby.  I thought Eva and I might look similar as infants but she has a much squarer face.  We have the same hairline and the same chin (maybe the eyes are similar?) but she's definitely got some Bennett in her face.  What do you think?  This last picture is of me too.  I think it's my 1st birthday.  What?  That's not how you open your presents?  Over your head?

Thanks for finding the pictures mom and thanks for scanning the photos dad!

Video of Eva crying

I wanted to get a video of Eva crying just so I would have it when she doesn't cry anymore.  Also, I wanted to be able to share with her what her cry sounded like.  I did pick her up after I took this video.  Click here to hear the crying.

Video of Eva

I made a video of Eva in her church clothes.  Click here to see it.  Bro. Ayres (a family friend) gave me some money to buy her an outfit and this is what he bought.  I was too excited to wait until Sunday to try it on her.  She got a little upset but she still looks cute.

Grandma Gorin sent Eva these socks.  I took a picture of her wearing them so I could send great grandma a picture.
Eva got her shots yesterday.  We were both crying.  She also got her stats.  She's in the 50th percentile in weight, height and head circumference.  She weighs 10 lbs 7 oz, is 22 inches long and a head circumference of 15 inches.

Okay, this one is blurry but I finally got her smiling.  She has the best smiles!  She usually smiles while she's getting her diaper changed and laying on the changing table, when she's falling asleep while nursing, when we're having a deep discussion.  On a side note, she discovered her hands today.  She was looking at them and then bringing them closer to her face to get a better look but her fine motor skills aren't quite there yet so she kept on punching herself in the face.  I was laughing.  I'm a good mom.

"Leave me alone Dad. I just want to burn things"

Katie and I use this blog as a means of sharing what we are doing with friends and family and as a family journal of things we want to remember, so if this post is way too long for you, we apologize in advance.
My Parents and my two sisters came to visit us and meet baby Eva. Here is a chronicle of our adventures.

Eating at the food carts. My Dad had a world of dishes to choose from and he got the ultimate cheeseburger: two grilled cheese sandwiches that were used as buns to sandwich in a quarter pounder hamburger and toppings. I was proud of him for choosing the healthy option.

Our day at the beach turned out to be rather cold as a freak storm moved in and brought fog and cooler temperatures.

But that didn't stop me and Clarissa from going swimming in the Ocean. Yes, it was very cold.

We drove up the Columbia river gorge, saw the waterfalls and then looped around through the Hood River valley to the backside of Mt. Hood and continued on to Lake Trillium and the Timberline Lodge. It was a very long drive, but a beautiful one during which we established the fact that my sister Amanda hates the country and the outdoors.

We ate lunch at this little BBQ place in Parkdale. Some of the best food I have had in Oregon.

Sasquatch lives.

My dad was on his phone everywhere we went. He claims he was looking up facts about the places we visited, but I think he was checking his pinterest account.

During the whole week my sisters were asked five or six times by random people if they were twins. They were also told by more than on transient that they were gorgeous.

We rented bikes and rode along the Willamette river. Amanda and Clarissa could not figure out the tandem bike, they even had difficulty walking the tandem bike up a ramp.

This guy is just awesome

Voodoo Doughnuts. My Mom was not a fan.

While looking at books at Powell's book store I showed my sisters one of my hobbies....laughing at the covers on Sci-Fi novels from the 70's. While we were loudly making fun of all the amazing book covers we got a lot of bad looks from the people who were in that section to actually buy those books and read them.
The best book cover was for a book about a teenage dragon full of angst and youth rebellion with a tagline that said "In every dragon family there is always one bad flame"

The last night here we went down to the river walkway and took pictures and tried writing our names.
